Professional Development Trainings Offers Stage for Shared Experiences

Prime Time offers a wide variety of trainings to empower out-of-school time (OST) practitioners to create safe, supportive and welcoming environments and encourage positive social interactions among youth. In a recent training entitled Cooperative Learning, Prime Time’s training gave practitioners the tools they need to give youth in their program the opportunities to work together in groups so they can teach and learn from one another. Prime Time’s Trainer Gwyn Williams gave participants ways they can nurture youth leadership, build community all while keeping things fun. This dynamic training equipped practitioners with grouping strategies and ways to think about building cooperative learning into any program offering.

One of the advantages of attending Prime Time’s virtual trainings is that practitioners are learning and hearing from colleagues who are having similar experiences in their programs. In every Prime Time training, attendees are given the opportunity to share how they cope with different situations that arise in their programs.
