Youth Across Palm Beach County Go Center Stage After School to Create, Sing and Perform

In the vibrant afterschool programs of Palm Beach County, youth are discovering the power of music and performance through the Young Singers of the Palm Beaches. This unique opportunity provides local youth with ways to explore musicianship, embrace different cultures, express emotions, and build strong teamwork skills. Each session focuses on helping singers improve their vocal technique, learn music from various genres, and develop essential skills in breath control, vocal alignment and intonation.

Binks Forest Elementary Choir Shines at the Winter Equestrian Festival

One of the highlights of this year's program was the performance of the Prime Time Young Singers Choir from Binks Forest Elementary. Under the guidance of music teacher Matthew Joy, the choir had the exciting opportunity to perform "The Star Spangled Banner" at the 2025 Winter Equestrian Festival at Wellington International. This prestigious event draws elite riders and horses from around the world who compete in disciplines such as show jumping, hunter and equitation. Loxahatchee Groves Elementary Lions’ Pride Singers Back from Winter Break

The Prime Time Young Singers Choir at Loxahatchee Groves Elementary is already hard at work after returning from winter break. Known as the Lions' Pride Singers, this group of talented 3rd through 5th graders is under the direction of Music Teacher Amy Joy. Their next big project? A special performance for Earth Day featuring their mini-musical titled Life Cycles. This show will explore the fascinating life cycles of plants and animals. We can’t wait to see how the Lions’ Pride Singers bring this story to life on stage!

Achievement Center Choir Delights Audiences with Holiday Classics

The Prime Time Young Singers Choir from the Achievement Center for Children and Families Village Academy also had an exciting season of performances. Directed by Music Teacher Karla Williams, this choir participated in the 2024 Winter Fest, celebrating childhood through iconic winter movies. The young performers sang a selection of heartwarming holiday songs, including Somewhere in My Memories from Home Alone, Christmas Time is Here from A Charlie Brown Christmas and The Chipmunk Song. Their joyful performances brought holiday cheer to the audience and showcased their hard work and dedication.

Through these programs, students are not only learning the art of singing, but they are also gaining confidence, making lifelong memories and contributing to the cultural vibrancy of their communities. The Young Singers of the Palm Beaches continue to offer these incredible opportunities, helping students across the county develop their voices—literally and figuratively! Prime Time strives to provide children and youth with a wide range of hands-on learning experiences. In partnership with local content expert organizations, Prime Time makes available expanded learning opportunities (ELOs) to eligible afterschool and summer programs. The expanded learning opportunities are offered at no cost to the program or family, thanks to the Children Services Council of Palm Beach County. In 2023-2024, Prime Time ELO providers offered 210,984 learning experiences that impacted 29,062 youth.
