SEL in the Community
Prime Time’s SEL Specialist Knellee Bisram recently led Mindfulness and Self-Care sessions for groups of 11th and 12th grade students enrolled in the Allied Health Assisting programs at Palm Beach Gardens High and Pahokee Middle High schools. Students actively engaged in practices for cultivating mindful awareness, and learned how these tools relate to neuroplasticity and can help in dealing with vicarious trauma, which is common in the medical field. The sessions are in support of, and part of, a Behavioral Health-Focused Pilot collaborative project involving the School District of Palm Beach County and a core group of community partners.
